자주 묻는 질문
If I sign up to host with Airbnb.org, do I have to do it for free?
What kind of evacuees do I need to accept, and for how long?
Airbnb.org's mission is connecting people to emergency housing in times of crisis. If there's a disaster, Airbnb.org will partner with a local nonprofit organization to identify people who are in need of temporary housing as a result of the crisis. Airbnb.org is focused on providing free, short-term stays. You can opt in and out of Airbnb.org housing at any point within your listing settings.
I am unable to provide caregiving support. Do I need to offer any specific assistance to evacuees?
You don't need, nor should you feel obligated, to offer any additional support beyond a safe place for someone to stay.
Who makes the reservation for the evacuees? Do they book it themselves?
Based on guest selection by a partner organization, Airbnb.org will provide a coupon for guests to book an Airbnb. The guest can filter the listings for Airbnb.org, and make a reservation by themselves. All guests will need to have an Airbnb account to make a reservation. This ensures that all guests go through the same background and saftey protocols.
The government or local authorities have requested cooperation from accommodation providers as a secondary evacuation site, and I am currently cooperating. I had to cancel existing reservations to accommodate evacuees—can penalties be waived?
If our Major Disruptive Event Policy is activated for the specific disaster case, the cancellation penalty is waived. Please contact customer support for more information.
If a disaster occurs and I already have reservations, should I cancel them to accommodate evacuees? If so, could you waive the consequences?
Please reach out to customer support for more information before canceling exsiting reservations.
Can the host decline an Airbnb.org booking request?
Yes, all Airbnb.org stays are request to book (even if you have instant book turned on) so you have the ability to accept or reject any request like you normally would.
If I start accepting evacuees on my own, can I register with Airbnb.org after?
No, you cannot retroactively participate in Airbnb.org if you already have guests in your home. However, all reservations are managed through your singular calendar so as long as you register for Airbnb.org, once this stay ends you can start to house Airbnb.org stays.
Can I exclude an Airbnb.org booking from the 180 night count?
The decision will be made by the government and/or local authorities. Each host must follow the guidance provided by the respective authorities, and any support from Airbnb.org will be provided in accordance with those directives.
